Over the last number of weeks, 32 pupils from 3rd Class onwards participated in an in-school chess tournament. The top eight contestants travelled to St. George’s N.S., Balbriggan to take part in a Ficheall Primary School Chess Tournament against 5 other schools on Friday the 7th of March. Our eight chess enthusiasts represented Springdale with plenty of skill and strategy. Each participant played six 20 minute games. We had lots of successful wins and even a few stale mates. We look forward to hearing the final result in the coming days. Well done boys!
